I like Evangeline Anderson's quirky little short stories but this one missed the mark a little.Zach and Emily have been best friends since school and he continues to lust after her from afar while she wastes time with her loser boyfriend. She has the weirdest job ever, assistant to some ultra-rich-crazy lady with more money than sense. Arranging tea parties and weddings for poodles is part of her daily activities, so when her boss sends her to an obscure nightclub to take part in an auction, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
The difference is that she's being auctioned - along with a number of other girls - for a spanking n sex session in the club.
Her naivety borders on stupidity as she prepares to go out on the stage. However, her fear when she realises what's happening, is very real. Thankfully she left a message for Zach and he comes charging to her rescue.
Only problem is, she's part of the auction and the only way she leaves is when someone has `bought' her. Not only that, they have to perform for the club.
There was a lot that I enjoyed about this story. I liked Emily and Zach's easy, affectionate relationship and I felt strongly for Zach. I never really got a chance to like Emily, most of the time I was cross with her or frustrated that she didn't see Zach as I did. I found the auction and the scene afterwards to be amazingly hot and I loved the way Zach looked after her. He was a real hero.
I'm rating this 4 out of 5 simply because Emily annoyed me so much.

Very warm...and well told. I liked it very much!
2.5 Stars - It was an okay short story but rather silly and I didn't feel anything for the lead characters.
This book was so much more than I expected. While the sexual scenes were extremely erotic, the story was what pulled me in. The chemistry between Emily and Zach was incredible, right from the first page. I'm amazed that such a complete story could be told in so few words. This is the second story of Evangeline Anderson's I've read, but I can definitely say I'll be reading more.
I thought this book was good, well written and thought out, but the end of the book felt rushed and inauthentic. I felt like the author was trying to fit the happily Ever After in without thinking about the flow of the story. This fact and that it was 5$ for a short story were turn offs, but besides this it was a good book and one that I enjoyed while reading
I absolutly love this author. I bought the book because I thought I could depend on her writing to carry the book even if it was a short book. I was wrong. The book starts out on a good note but by the end you just want it to be over. The characters although well written have no real depth and the female seems to be an air head with not backbone. This book is defininetly something I would not recommend you spending your money on.
I had no idea this book was so short and that's because I forgot to look. The bottom line is that there really want much of a story and the entire thing was sex between two friends who both secretly wanted more. Not that this author can't give us great, erotic sex scenes, but in this, that's about all there is. Not with the money for sure on this one. The first one of her books that I thought was pretty boring and a little ridiculous.
This book requires you to be alone, with toys or with a siginificant other if ya know what I mean. The hero really got me in more ways than one. Anytime that a hero really understands the Heroine's personality, quirks and all...you have a winner. Especially when the hero hides his dominant side from his female "friend/CRUSH", until the time comes that all bets are off. That and her repeated comments on the size of his ..uh..well equipment and that she thinks to herself (frequently) how she never knew during all the years (since high school) she had no idea he was ...well..so well endowed. Gawd..get the ice cause it gettin hot in here... Then him sooo worried he HURT her with his BIG...endowment...You gotta read this. Kind of similar to "Wishful Thinking", in a way as far as the Hero and Heroine knowing each other, but plots completely different. Both are great, hot, hot, hot reads.
